3 Research Assistant positions in “SUPERCLOUD” EU project – TU Darmstadt
The System Security Lab at TU Darmstadt is looking for highly skilled scientific personnel to complete our team for SUPERCLOUD, a European cooperative research project.
SUPERCLOUD aims at developing a user-centric cloud architecture for self-service clouds-of-clouds, i.e., customers can define their own protection requirements and avoid provider lock-ins. On the other hand, SUPERCLOUD focusses on Self-Managed services for self-protecting clouds-of-clouds which can reduce administration complexity through automation.
The project consortium is industry-led with partners actively involved in promotion of open source cloud technologies and contributing to major standardization bodies in cloud security, inter-cloud architectures, security protocols and SDN (Software-define Network).
The positions are available immediately and initially limited to a 1-year appointment with the aspiration of extension.
Your Profile
Applicants should hold Diploma, Master or PhD Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engi-neering and bring well-founded knowledge and experience in IT-Security. In particular, we are looking for candidates that have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Cloud and virtualization security
- Operating system security
- Hardware security mechanisms and Trusted Computing (e.g., ARM TrustZone)
- Design, development and analysis of security architectures
We expect excellent, self-motivated and independent pursuit of current research problems in security research and the ability to transfer these concepts into practice. We provide the environment and support to publish and present original research at leading international conferences and in scientific journals and to collaborate with leading international security groups and enterprises. Further, we provide support to pursue PhD or postdoctoral studies. The successful candidate should be able to collaborate effectively with a diverse cross-organization team (comprising individuals from industry and academia).
Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the research and service requirements attached to this position serve at the same time as fulfillment of the academic requirements for a candidate’s doctoral degree.
