DATA ENGINEER_ up to 80k

The new Data Analytics Division is pursuing the goal of realizing innovative potentials, and generating competitive advantages through the systematic use of data, along the entire value chain. We use analysis tools and techniques to identify internal and external data optimization potentials, and to implement these in close cooperation with the operating units. For the department Data Engineering we are looking for Data Engineers with talent to think laterally.
Your tasks:

  Prepare and combine large amounts of

data from a variety of data sources to

make them useful for statistical analysis
  Developing analytical solutions along

the entire value chain using advanced

statistical methods together with the

Data Science department
  Further develop tools and procedures

for data analysis
  Conception, implementation and

operation of scalable software solutions

for the use of structured and

unstructured mass data based on big

data systems such as Apache Hadoop
  Accompany and consult operational

units for the use of analysis results

Your profile:

  Completed studies in computer science,

business informatics or comparable

qualification
  In-depth understanding of data

structures and data management
  In-depth knowledge and experience in

data modelling, data visualisation as well

as data-intake and data-curation

procedures / tools
  Excellent capabilities in the

identification and preparation of data

sources according to the specific

requirements of the team in the data

analytics environment
  Very good knowledge in one or more

database programming languages such

as SQL, SAS and R
  Good knowledge of one or more

programming and scripting languages

such as Python, Scala, Java, JavaScript
  Experience with distributed systems for

data analysis, especially Hadoop (Hive,

Spark, Pig, Mahout, etc.), NoSQL

databases (Cassandra, HBase) and

Linux experience in the implementation

of Data Analytics applications
  Experience in the insurance industry
  Flexibility, willingness to innovate, and

forward-looking thinking and action
  Ability to think and work together

network-wide
  Excellent service orientation, teamwork

and very high operational readiness
  Very good knowledge of German and

English
  Willingness to travel
