The dissertation project will deal with questions regarding the life at the very low water temperatures of Lake Baikal. The focus of the dissertation will be on the molecular analysis of stress adaptation mechanisms in different amphipod species using proteomics, transcriptomics and bioinformatics. The proteomics experiments and data analyses will be performed in close collaboration with the other project partners working on physiology (AWI) and biochemistry (ISU) aspects.
