In the Wireless Innovation Centre at our research site in Munich we focus on the investigation on key technologies for future mobile radio systems (5G). One of the major focus of our research is on the design of system concepts and air-interface for 5G millimeter wave systems.

For our team we are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated PhD candidates, who would like to support our work for a duration of at least 3 years as a

Your area of work will consist

• Development of Physical layer (PHY) technology and signal processing algorithms to increase the spectral efficiency of millimeter wave links
• Analysis and optimization of the corresponding PHY algorithms and schemes
• Evaluation of the PHY algorithms/schemes with the aid of simulations (prevalently implemented in MatLab)

As potential applicant, your qualification should match the following profile:

• Study of electrical engineering/information technology or computer engineering, with above average grades
• Knowledge in communication engineering and mobile communications, especially in PHY signal processing
• Diplomarbeit/master thesis, previous internship or other experience in the area of mobile communications are appreciated
• Good programming skills, in particular MatLab or C/C++
• Working self-reliant and target-oriented
• Dedicated, active, independent and team-oriented way of thinking and working
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
