Family Reunion – Pakistan – General info for all to avoid mistakes

Dear Members Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I am writing this email to let members know few things about family reunion and some mistakes which must be avoided. If some friend is going to get married  in Pakistan, please tell him/her about these issues. Simple looking mistakes can cause big trouble and delay later in family reunion.
About Nikah Registration:
Registration of Nikah involves three people:  Nikah Khawan, Nikah Registrar  and Union council. UC gives a register with 50 leaves to Nikah-Registrar. Each leave contains Nikah Nama ” Form II” in quadruplicate. In one UC , only a single Registrar can have the register.  In usual case, Nikah Khawan goes to Registrar(if he is himself not a registrar) and gets a Nikah nama Form II (which has fours copies). One copy each (filled and signed) is given to  Duhla, Dulhan,Registrar and UC.
1. Take care that Nikah is registered at the same Union Council where Nikah has taken place .Address written on filled Nikahnama should be in the UC where Nikah is registered.  Any thing different to this created big problem for many ,especially those who did Nikha in a Marriage Hall and brought Molvi sahib from some other UC. If you made this mistake, count a delay of at least 3 months. Embassy will raise objection as the lawyer sent for Marriage verification would like to see your Nikah registered at the same UC as address written on Nikahnama. You may be to asked to change registration of your marriage from one UC to other through a court procedure in Pakistan.
2. Please closely check all the four copies of the filled Nikah-Nama for any mistake in names, ID card nr., date of birth etc. Check that all signatures are there at right place and stamp of Nikah-Registrar is present. Many take things lightly in Pakistan while filling forms.
3. Telephonic Nikah is big no no. You must be present there as German Embassy/consulate now checks it from entry and exit stamps on your passport. If there are some unavoidable circumstances, give a written power of attorney which has legal value i.e signed in front of Notary Public/judge or from Pakistani embassy/consulate (in case they deal with it) to your father to represent you during Nikah.  Better be present there. Your absence will complicate the matters and hence the delay/rejection as a consequence.
4.  Carefully read the requirements of Embassy for Family reunion. If any question arises, call embassy to get an answer. Don’t rely blindly on the info collected from here and there.
5. Some people I talked to have made mistake while getting online appointment. You mad a mistake in name, passport number or email address than most probably you will not be able to submit documents on that day. In my experience, if you decide to take an appointment for family reunion, you normally get it after 4 to 6 weeks. So missing an appointment can be source of further delay.6. The interview by lawyer or at embassy may involve basic questions from your spouse about you. Newly married; make sure he/she has all the basic info about you.

7. Spouse of a Blue Card holder is exempted from providing A-1 German language certificate. About this, don’t believe on what they say on phone :). If your spouse can’t manage to do a language course in Pakistan, present following reference of the concerned Law  as proof on your appointment day:

8. In some cities, there were cases when Ausländerbehorde(ABH) objected that the spouse in Germany is passing through the probation period of job.  In some cities ,they ask for salary slips of 6 months while in others only for 3 months or just a job contract. Talk to other Pakistanis/Indians who have experience of dealing with the same ABH  so that you can proceed accordingly.

Please correct if I am wrong on any account. The info is based on posts of members on this forum, experiences of acquaintances and my personal experience.

  4. Hello people, required little information. Has they change the process for family reunion visa ? I have submitted the documents at embassy but they did not collect the passports from us. Earlier , my friends told that embassy will keep the passports which didnt happen in our case. Any information?

    Secondly, how long lawyer take to contact after submitting the documents. ?

  6. aoa goaraya kaisi hian ? mery to 4 months complete ho gy hian. leken koi reply nahi aya hia. mujy kia kerna chahi wait krun ya koi lawyer kry.ap ka kuch reply aya hia last time jin objection waly ko viza mila hia un ko to 6 week bad mil gaya hia humara pata nahi kia masla hia mujy to dar lag raha hia dobara objection na laga dy. ap kia kehti hian kia kerna chahi?

      First of all, sorry for the late reply. Actually I was very busy here.
      family viza, Anam, thanks for your kindness.
      I am really very disappointed and have fear also that what comes next. I read all the comments but I still have nothing new to share. I did not ask from ABH, nothing from my lawyer.
      They work like that. And because we are needy, we have no other option except waiting.

  8. aslam o alekum brothers n sisters..i went on 6 july to abh and asked about our case,they said they are waiting for reply from embassy.I forced them and they sent email to the embassy.Today i have called abh,they said on last friday they have sent our visa confirmation to the embassy.plz pray for us

  9. hiader bahi yeh to achi khbar hia shukar hia ap ne share kia 2 weeks se bhut upset thy k kisi ko achi khabar nahi mili hia. is.ka mtlab hia k islambad embassy ne ap ki report ok ker di hia best of luck . Allah ap ko jald khushkhabri sunaye or hum sb ki bi muskaly asan kry. ameen

    1. Yeh kya system hai embassy walon ka yar 4 months se appointment ni di hai phone kro to kehtay hain k wait kro… kis kisam ka torture hai yeh :( :(

          4. They are handing out appointments to students who are applying now. Certainly the family reunion visa has the lowest priority for them.

  18. I married in germany but didnt get visa from there bcz i went to germany through illegal from england and now they told me go back to pakistan and get firat visa from there…. i dont know what i need to do and how long they gonna take feom pakistan??

  24. Hi all, i am preparing documents for family reunification visa and wanted to know that my husband had blue card but after 33 months, as per law, he has now got the perminant residency. So now will i have to provide A1 german language certificate? Also, can anyone please share german counslate contact information? The number provided in their website is not answering.

  25. Assalam Allikum. Kesy hain sb log. Men kaafi din se follow kr rhi hn is forum ko kaafi useful info milti hai or kafi cases ka bhi pta chalta hai. InshaAllah sb ka visa jaldi milay sb ko. Meny appointment k lye apply kya hua hai and I have two questions.

    1) Mera birth certificate ni bna hua to uss ka normal process kya hai? Kafi logo k birth certificate ka masla hta hai to I want to know k kya process follow kya jaye takay koi masla na ho
    2) Meray husband k pas blue card hai or embassy ki website pr mention hai k A1 ki zarurt ni hai to koi masla to ni hai ager A1 na kya hua ho?

    2. no if your husband blue card holder or his status is as “”refugee”” even then you o not need of A1 certificate.

  27. Hooriyaa plz app bta sakti hy k apki properly Pakistan shadi hoi yaa just telephonic nikah huwa. Apko sab sy pehly apna birth certificate wala masla hal krna chahyee ager embassy ny objection lga diya too phir wait kr kr k pagal hi hoo jayee gi.or visa 1 dream lgy gaaa.first of all birthcertificate properly bnwayee. Baqi A1 wala jub embassy file submit karwane gye tab confirm kr lijuee ga.ok best off luck

    2. Anam — meri shadi proper hui hai meray husband aye they Germany se or hamara nikkah hua. Us k bd ham ne march mein apply kya lakin abi tk appointment ni mili :( . Mein yehi puchna cha rhi hn k proper way kya hai birth certificate banwany ka taky bd mein masla na ho phely se hi sb proper hua ho. A1 ka to clearly mention hai lakin kafi logo ko masla hua A1 manga hai jin k husband k pas blue card hai to mein uss ka bhi clear krna chah rhi hn phelay se q k meny abhi tk A1 ni dya hai.

  28. eu nationals other then germany,blue card holders and who has established buisness in germany (before marriage )they dont need to submit A1
