Support Engineer, Support Services (m/f)

a Support Engineer for the German Market to join the Support Services Team in the European Headquarters located in Eschborn, close to Frankfurt am Main.

•  Support Engineers are the first line of support for Liferay’s subscription customers and help to ensure customers are satisfied with their Liferay subscription. They shall help to diagnose technical difficulties that arise in the use of Liferay Portal and related products, collecting relevant information, applying known patches or workarounds, and educating customers on the proper use of the software.

• Support Engineers will experience a rapid learning curve and be exposed to a number of leading Java-related technologies used in modern application development, including databases, operating systems, application servers, as well as leading development frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring. Support Engineers will also receive comprehensive exposure to the concerns of running production enterprise systems, including load balancing, clustering, and virtualization technologies.

• A technical degree from a university program (Bachelor’s or similar) or relevant experience and achievements
• Excellent problem-solving skills and logical thinking
• A passion for learning new technologies and understanding their usage within the product
• Ability to work with the team in order to meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills in English and German
