Family Reunion – Pakistan – General info for all to avoid mistakes

Dear Members Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I am writing this email to let members know few things about family reunion and some mistakes which must be avoided. If some friend is going to get married  in Pakistan, please tell him/her about these issues. Simple looking mistakes can cause big trouble and delay later in family reunion.
About Nikah Registration:
Registration of Nikah involves three people:  Nikah Khawan, Nikah Registrar  and Union council. UC gives a register with 50 leaves to Nikah-Registrar. Each leave contains Nikah Nama ” Form II” in quadruplicate. In one UC , only a single Registrar can have the register.  In usual case, Nikah Khawan goes to Registrar(if he is himself not a registrar) and gets a Nikah nama Form II (which has fours copies). One copy each (filled and signed) is given to  Duhla, Dulhan,Registrar and UC.
1. Take care that Nikah is registered at the same Union Council where Nikah has taken place .Address written on filled Nikahnama should be in the UC where Nikah is registered.  Any thing different to this created big problem for many ,especially those who did Nikha in a Marriage Hall and brought Molvi sahib from some other UC. If you made this mistake, count a delay of at least 3 months. Embassy will raise objection as the lawyer sent for Marriage verification would like to see your Nikah registered at the same UC as address written on Nikahnama. You may be to asked to change registration of your marriage from one UC to other through a court procedure in Pakistan.
2. Please closely check all the four copies of the filled Nikah-Nama for any mistake in names, ID card nr., date of birth etc. Check that all signatures are there at right place and stamp of Nikah-Registrar is present. Many take things lightly in Pakistan while filling forms.
3. Telephonic Nikah is big no no. You must be present there as German Embassy/consulate now checks it from entry and exit stamps on your passport. If there are some unavoidable circumstances, give a written power of attorney which has legal value i.e signed in front of Notary Public/judge or from Pakistani embassy/consulate (in case they deal with it) to your father to represent you during Nikah.  Better be present there. Your absence will complicate the matters and hence the delay/rejection as a consequence.
4.  Carefully read the requirements of Embassy for Family reunion. If any question arises, call embassy to get an answer. Don’t rely blindly on the info collected from here and there.
5. Some people I talked to have made mistake while getting online appointment. You mad a mistake in name, passport number or email address than most probably you will not be able to submit documents on that day. In my experience, if you decide to take an appointment for family reunion, you normally get it after 4 to 6 weeks. So missing an appointment can be source of further delay.6. The interview by lawyer or at embassy may involve basic questions from your spouse about you. Newly married; make sure he/she has all the basic info about you.

7. Spouse of a Blue Card holder is exempted from providing A-1 German language certificate. About this, don’t believe on what they say on phone :). If your spouse can’t manage to do a language course in Pakistan, present following reference of the concerned Law  as proof on your appointment day:

8. In some cities, there were cases when Ausländerbehorde(ABH) objected that the spouse in Germany is passing through the probation period of job.  In some cities ,they ask for salary slips of 6 months while in others only for 3 months or just a job contract. Talk to other Pakistanis/Indians who have experience of dealing with the same ABH  so that you can proceed accordingly.

Please correct if I am wrong on any account. The info is based on posts of members on this forum, experiences of acquaintances and my personal experience.

If you know some other issues which you or someone known to you faced, kindly share on this forum. This will facilitate others in their family reunion.

    1. Ji aap ny Sahi Kaha. Mujy late entry Ka procedure pata nahi tha. Wo Tu Kuch din pehly isi forum py Kuch fellows nay discuss Kia Tu mujy bhi khyal Aya. Lekin tab tak hum papers jama kerwa Chucky thy and even lawyer bhi ho ky ja chuka tha. Because my daughter’s birth entry was normal in UC record that’s why Mera khyal hi Nahi Gia late entry procedure ki taraf.

      Lawyer ko last week call Ker ky poocha tha. Us ny Kaha rehny dain and embassy ky reply Ka intezaar Ker lain. Usy khud Kuch pata Nahi.

    to 1 Set original documents ki aur 2 Sets Copies ki deni hain?

      Lekin mujy aik cheez ki samaj Nahi aati, MERI beti ki birth entry Tu bilkul accurate hy. I mean us ki tareekh pedaish ky mutabiq hy. Tu main ny Tu usy cancel Nahi kerwani.
      Ager farz karain cancel kerwani hy embassy Ka aitraz door kerny ko Tu phir kon si birth date likhwaien gy?
      Aap ko Nahi Lagta k ye complicated hy? I mean k Kuch samaj hi Nahi aati ky embassy ko Kia Chahiye or Kia Nahi.

        2. hm ny deadline 15 may se pehle embacy ko emails or letter send kr dya ta.. or hmare lawyer jo hmara case handle kr rahe thy court myn, unhon ny b embacy ko email likh d t k abi case chal ra hy or faisla ni aya.. bt still no reply n no letter.. ab bot zada tym waste ho chuka hy.. myn ny octuber 2017 ki file jma krai hui hy.. shadeed tension or mayoosi ho rahi hy ab to.. ????

  11. Salaam all,
    My name is Mudassir, I am from Multan but my Nikah has been done in sargodha where my wife live. I have 2 questions. First, is this a problem if my nikah has been done in Sargodha? Inquiry will be happend in multan or sargodha? Do I need to do something in Multan?
    I have applied for appointment in March and still did not hear anything from them? So is it normal? When they will give appointments?

    1. According to nikha rule nikha always done on girl side area so this is not a problem. But make sure from the union council or where your nikha registered that all nikha copies are properly filled or stamped. enqiury will done on sargodha from the concerned offices where your wife’s documents registered. And lawyer visit your home at multan for interview. In my case me belong from sargodha n nikha done in sargodha n my husband from islamabad but lawyer called me and said come to sargodha for interview.

        1. Are you applied for family reunion visa for your wife??? Right??? your wife need all documents which are mentioned on website. And husband no need to visit pakistan when verification done and clear from your wife side in embassy…after that Abh called you in germany. And as a husband you need to submit your job proof/ salary slip, city registration, apartment contract if any other thing they demand from you…

    2. Ajkal students bhi jaty hain isliye appointment late mil rahe hain ajkal sb sy zada rush hota hai cuz sep main smester start hota hai…feb march april main jin bhi logo ny apply kiya hai unko zada wait krna par raha hai..it is normal..just pray!!

    and do you know what I can do to get the appointment it is already 4 months i did not hear anything from them? Is there any platform where I can write my ref number and they give me the status of the application?

      1. yes I filled the form that is available, they gave me the reference number, and after that i did not hear anything from them, is there anything that I should do?

        1. I called and email embassy and they said that I have to wait. There is nothing else we can do. I don’t understand how hard is it to hand out appointments. Bhai appointment dey do beshak jb ki bhi do lakin do to sahi. :(

          3. Ajkal students ka rush hota hai appointment late milti hai…you just need to wait…apko khudi mail aa jaye g..normal after 1.5 or 2 month mail ajati hai..but ajkal sbko wait krna par raha hai

          1. Did you attach something related to her condition during interview ? So they could give you quick visa ?

  25. Salam everyone. Kia mujhay koi bata sakta hai k agar kissi cheez pe koi objection lagna ho tou kitnay arsay mai embassy bata deti hai objection ka?? Mere case ko july me six months pooray ho jayen gai aur lawyer ne b kaha k sab theek hai apka aur ABH se b sab clear hai.

Ap ka aur mera case bilkul same hai muj se ABH ne koi documents nahn mange meri wife ne March main visa apply kia tha aur June main lawyer ne verification ki hai.maine ABH se poocha k ap ko documents receive hue hn ya nhn to unhn ne kaha k document receive ho chuke hn wo verification result ka wait kar rae hn.

          Ap ko visa apply karne k kitni dair baad lawyer ne visit kia tha?aur ABH ne documents mange ya nhn?

          1. Aapki wife ka interview kab huwa tha? Mera interview March 28th ko huwa tha and ab tak koi b inquiry k liye ni aaya, Embassy ki taraf se b kisi ne koi contact ni kiya? is it normal?

            Aisa koi case hota hai jis mein lawyer Aapke pas na aiye?

          2. Agar ap muje sirf aik baat ka jawaab de dain to main ap ko ap ka poora case samjha sakta hn.Kya ap k spouse Student hn?aur 2sra ye k Kya ABH ne unn se document submit Karne ka bola?

          3. ABH se kaise poocha Aapne? are you allowed to ask the status of your case from ABH? Embassy took undertaking from me that we are not allowed to ask about the status of VISA even from third party till 6 months.

          4. Ap ko iss week lawyer ki call aae gi phone ka dehaan rakhye ga iss week na aai to har surat next week aae gi isse 1 din bhi late nhn ho ga aur call ki timings nhn hn call ap ko raat 9 bje bhi aa sakti hai.keep eyes on your phone.

          5. My husband has blue card and he has got work visa, and ABH didn’t contact him, we applied at Embassy in Islamabad, abi tak kisi ne koi b contact ni kiya

    2. Ap log khud se chezein assume na krein, aur bbs wait krein. In my case, my wife has been waiting 6 months 15 days. Lawyer verification done, call for ab for documents done, no objection yet. Email b ki ha embassy ko no response, aur call kro tou koi uthata he nhi he bs operator bolta rehta ha. I am blue card holder working here for more than a year.

    2. it’s impossible.They must have to assure k jiss se shadi hui hai ap wohi ho ya nhn.Aur ye tabhi mumkin hai jab Lawyer aae aur verification kare.Pakistan,India aur Bangladesh se baghair Lawyer verification k visa process ho he nhn sakta.

      Aur ap ABH se Email kar k status pooch sakte hn.

      1. Aoa Capricorn, you don’t worry about the address change because Ausländerbehörde automatically get the new address of anyone who is living in Germany. But make sure that your husband has registered the new address in Einwohnermeldungsamt. It is an office where one must inform/ register about his/her new address. If he has done this than automatically every post from abh will come to the new address. And you don’t need to inform embassy about it.
