Family Reunion – Pakistan – General info for all to avoid mistakes

Dear Members Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I am writing this email to let members know few things about family reunion and some mistakes which must be avoided. If some friend is going to get married  in Pakistan, please tell him/her about these issues. Simple looking mistakes can cause big trouble and delay later in family reunion.
About Nikah Registration:
Registration of Nikah involves three people:  Nikah Khawan, Nikah Registrar  and Union council. UC gives a register with 50 leaves to Nikah-Registrar. Each leave contains Nikah Nama ” Form II” in quadruplicate. In one UC , only a single Registrar can have the register.  In usual case, Nikah Khawan goes to Registrar(if he is himself not a registrar) and gets a Nikah nama Form II (which has fours copies). One copy each (filled and signed) is given to  Duhla, Dulhan,Registrar and UC.
1. Take care that Nikah is registered at the same Union Council where Nikah has taken place .Address written on filled Nikahnama should be in the UC where Nikah is registered.  Any thing different to this created big problem for many ,especially those who did Nikha in a Marriage Hall and brought Molvi sahib from some other UC. If you made this mistake, count a delay of at least 3 months. Embassy will raise objection as the lawyer sent for Marriage verification would like to see your Nikah registered at the same UC as address written on Nikahnama. You may be to asked to change registration of your marriage from one UC to other through a court procedure in Pakistan.
2. Please closely check all the four copies of the filled Nikah-Nama for any mistake in names, ID card nr., date of birth etc. Check that all signatures are there at right place and stamp of Nikah-Registrar is present. Many take things lightly in Pakistan while filling forms.
3. Telephonic Nikah is big no no. You must be present there as German Embassy/consulate now checks it from entry and exit stamps on your passport. If there are some unavoidable circumstances, give a written power of attorney which has legal value i.e signed in front of Notary Public/judge or from Pakistani embassy/consulate (in case they deal with it) to your father to represent you during Nikah.  Better be present there. Your absence will complicate the matters and hence the delay/rejection as a consequence.
4.  Carefully read the requirements of Embassy for Family reunion. If any question arises, call embassy to get an answer. Don’t rely blindly on the info collected from here and there.
5. Some people I talked to have made mistake while getting online appointment. You mad a mistake in name, passport number or email address than most probably you will not be able to submit documents on that day. In my experience, if you decide to take an appointment for family reunion, you normally get it after 4 to 6 weeks. So missing an appointment can be source of further delay.6. The interview by lawyer or at embassy may involve basic questions from your spouse about you. Newly married; make sure he/she has all the basic info about you.

7. Spouse of a Blue Card holder is exempted from providing A-1 German language certificate. About this, don’t believe on what they say on phone :). If your spouse can’t manage to do a language course in Pakistan, present following reference of the concerned Law  as proof on your appointment day:

8. In some cities, there were cases when Ausländerbehorde(ABH) objected that the spouse in Germany is passing through the probation period of job.  In some cities ,they ask for salary slips of 6 months while in others only for 3 months or just a job contract. Talk to other Pakistanis/Indians who have experience of dealing with the same ABH  so that you can proceed accordingly.

Please correct if I am wrong on any account. The info is based on posts of members on this forum, experiences of acquaintances and my personal experience.

        1. Interview date and submission of docs was 16 November. Lawyer came for verification on 1 January. What about you? Do you already have an appointment? Waiting for lawyer visit?

      1. Ap ka husband Germany ma rhete ha? Aur ap Pakistan ma? To phir ap ke parents ke ghar ay ga. Jisne application submit ki ha us ke ghar ay ga lawyer.

But mere whole documents pae address mere inlaws k ghr ka hai jo address pakistan ka hai tou yeh trouble nai krega k main wahan nai rhti jo address mere doc mae hai ab, docments means mera id card or passport dono pae ab husband name hai mere name k sath or address b un k pakistan wale ghr ka but mae us address mae nai rhti meri rukhsati nak hui

        2. One more question, mere husband germany mae citizen hain, blue card holder nai, tou documents ki requirement mae main nadra nikkah nama ko german translation mae b submitte krwau? Or german translation marriage certificate nadra ka attest hoga?

Mene abhe A1 nahi keya next month admission lena hai to keya Embassy without A1 ke document le lete hai or jub me A1 pass karlon to unko sent kardo keya esa mumkin hai ? Thanks Amna so i like to take appointment while doing my A1 and submit my documents because after reading all comments i understand its take long time for whole process so better i submit my documents so its will be at process thanks again one more time take care May Allah Bless all of us Ameen.

  6. I did that in standesamt Hmaburg but i have still no answer whether a document verification….why it takes soo long i submitt my papers and from my husband on june but still no inquiry how is ur case…i am full stressed…can u tell how far is ur case

  7. Salam.. im in confusion mujhe spous visa k liye apply krna hai or couse b ho rha hai mera, konse nikkah nama ki translation ki zarurat hogi? Deutsch mae? nadra wale nikkah nama ki jo marriage certificate hai? Or after translation usko attest krwana hai ya nai? Pleaseeee ans me

    I applied for an appointment for spouse visa on the 20th of August 2018. It’s been more than 6 months now and I haven’t received any date for appointment yet. I don’t know how to go about it or what to do. There’s no point calling the embassy because they never tell you anything. What should I do?

    3. Hello Sarah , 5-7 months is normal time for appointment. I know that people who applied in June/july got appointments in Feb. So i guess yours will be on your way as well.

  13. Aoa alll meny 12 march ko interview dya 2018 mai phr august ma visa reject higya is base py k mere husband ny apna purana divorce jo pakistani tha.. Wo germany ma regester nhi krwaya kya ksi ko is case k baray ma kou info ha tu plz help me.. Appeal krni. Hogi ya germany mai mere husband ny lawyer kiya hwa ha wo kafi hoga

Hi @admin i applied for family vusa in march 2018 but got rejected because tbey raise an obejection about my husband’s last divorce in pakistan wgich is certified in pakistna but they said you have to go thorugh recognition of forign divorce law.. So i need to know from where we can have this done

I went to Karachi consulate for spouse visa dox submission as my husband is living in Germany for last 1 year but the consulate representative told me that they cannot accept my dox by saying that it requires 2 years for your husband’s stay in Germany and after that you can apply for the spouse visa. Can anyone please guide me in this regard? Shall really appreciate it.

  16. On other side my husbands divorce papr is still in anuslander they are not returing us… And my husband did lawyer and lawyer file a case in auswartigamt against this issue… It has been 5 months but court didnot schdule a date of hearing… How much time comsumed in such case by court

    My better half had applied for appointment on 30th September 2018. The objective behind this comment is to give/get an idea of how much time it takes to get an appointment. It certainly takes more than five months as mentioned on the official website.

  25. I have applied in February 2019 second week , I have got only one E Mail ,that I am registered with below text

    You have successfully registered for the waiting list to obtain an appointment for submitting your application for family reunion visa.

    You will receive a notification with your appointment slot separately. This notification will also be sent via email to the address provided by you

    Appointments are allocated as per the order of incoming registrations. Given the high demand for appointments, please note that you have to wait approximately seven (7) months for the allocation of your appointment.

    my question is this, I have to wait for next 7 months period for the allocation of my visa process appointment? can anyone help me to know the process ? how much I have to wait ? and how long it takes time .. I mean whole process? I have to wait for next e mail?

    2. Thats correct. You are now on the waiting list. You have to wait for that period until you get an appointment.

      You will receive another email in coming months which will have your appointment date mentioned with two links in the email.
      one for accepting that appointment and another for cancelling the allocated date.

      Make sure you choose the right one.

        1. It takes minimum eight months for appointment these days, as per my experience and as per embassy latest email.

  26. Salam gusy i have done all process 11 May 2018 aply for appointment got appointment 11 October submit visa application on 12 Dec lawyer visit us 2 Feb 2019 got letter from ABH 16 April den 23 April submit all of documents now can any tell us how long can be Taken ? For visa call?

    1. from date of visa it can take upto 6 months. These days embassy is really slow in pk according to recent comments by people.

  27. Aslam o alikum can anybidy tell now a days we need to have health insurance if you spouse is german national ,while normally embassy just says please bring your passport and nothing else .. if anybody has experienced that thing..please do tell

        1. Apka case reject Hwa tha? If yes tu kya again apply krna prtta h… Or agr nhi reject Hwa tu itna tym m kya wo file close nhi kr detay because mera b case ko darh Sal hogya h or apka kya issue Tha
