Family Reunion – Pakistan – General info for all to avoid mistakes

Abdul Majid Malik <majid.malik[@]yahoo.com>;
Dear Members Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I am writing this email to let members know few things about family reunion and some mistakes which must be avoided. If some friend is going to get married  in Pakistan, please tell him/her about these issues. Simple looking mistakes can cause big trouble and delay later in family reunion.
About Nikah Registration:
Registration of Nikah involves three people:  Nikah Khawan, Nikah Registrar  and Union council. UC gives a register with 50 leaves to Nikah-Registrar. Each leave contains Nikah Nama ” Form II” in quadruplicate. In one UC , only a single Registrar can have the register.  In usual case, Nikah Khawan goes to Registrar(if he is himself not a registrar) and gets a Nikah nama Form II (which has fours copies). One copy each (filled and signed) is given to  Duhla, Dulhan,Registrar and UC.
1. Take care that Nikah is registered at the same Union Council where Nikah has taken place .Address written on filled Nikahnama should be in the UC where Nikah is registered.  Any thing different to this created big problem for many ,especially those who did Nikha in a Marriage Hall and brought Molvi sahib from some other UC. If you made this mistake, count a delay of at least 3 months. Embassy will raise objection as the lawyer sent for Marriage verification would like to see your Nikah registered at the same UC as address written on Nikahnama. You may be to asked to change registration of your marriage from one UC to other through a court procedure in Pakistan.
2. Please closely check all the four copies of the filled Nikah-Nama for any mistake in names, ID card nr., date of birth etc. Check that all signatures are there at right place and stamp of Nikah-Registrar is present. Many take things lightly in Pakistan while filling forms.
3. Telephonic Nikah is big no no. You must be present there as German Embassy/consulate now checks it from entry and exit stamps on your passport. If there are some unavoidable circumstances, give a written power of attorney which has legal value i.e signed in front of Notary Public/judge or from Pakistani embassy/consulate (in case they deal with it) to your father to represent you during Nikah.  Better be present there. Your absence will complicate the matters and hence the delay/rejection as a consequence.
4.  Carefully read the requirements of Embassy for Family reunion. If any question arises, call embassy to get an answer. Don’t rely blindly on the info collected from here and there.
5. Some people I talked to have made mistake while getting online appointment. You mad a mistake in name, passport number or email address than most probably you will not be able to submit documents on that day. In my experience, if you decide to take an appointment for family reunion, you normally get it after 4 to 6 weeks. So missing an appointment can be source of further delay.6. The interview by lawyer or at embassy may involve basic questions from your spouse about you. Newly married; make sure he/she has all the basic info about you.

7. Spouse of a Blue Card holder is exempted from providing A-1 German language certificate. About this, don’t believe on what they say on phone :). If your spouse can’t manage to do a language course in Pakistan, present following reference of the concerned Law  as proof on your appointment day:

http://www.bluecard-eu.de/eu-blue-card-germany/residence-act/spouse.html

http://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/aufenthg_2004/__30.html

8. In some cities, there were cases when Ausländerbehorde(ABH) objected that the spouse in Germany is passing through the probation period of job.  In some cities ,they ask for salary slips of 6 months while in others only for 3 months or just a job contract. Talk to other Pakistanis/Indians who have experience of dealing with the same ABH  so that you can proceed accordingly.

Please correct if I am wrong on any account. The info is based on posts of members on this forum, experiences of acquaintances and my personal experience.

If you know some other issues which you or someone known to you faced, kindly share on this forum. This will facilitate others in their family reunion.

    Salam

Does Anyone know British or german nationals ko ABH se call or letter ata hai ? ya directly spouse ko visa mil jata hai if everything is clear from Pakistan’s end.
agar ata hai to what is the approximate time, like after the spouse verification how much time it takes them to get a response from ABH.

what did they ask in interview?

          5. Hooriya says:
            November 6, 2018 at 1:38 pm

            They asked general questions.

            – First they told me to arrange all documents. Also remember to take your husband’s Pakistani ID card copy with you since it is required and it is not mentioned on their website.
            – Asked about nikkah and rukhsati date
            – Husband’s profession. When and why they went to Germany and since when they are working
            – Your own profession and future goals after going to Germany
            – They asked about the language but I said that my husband has a blue card.
            – Husband’s salary and do they send you money and if yes then how much
            – Lawyers fee is 40k and they take that during the interview so do remember to take 40k pkr with the bank notes of 5000.
            – You will have to submit the visa fees in the bank after the interview. approx. 10 min walk from the embassy

Rest was just general information about your siblings parents occupation . The interview was in english and urdu.

            Good luck :)

            Hi Hooriya
What is this lawyer fees all about?
Is it private lawyer hire by you or is this fee compulsory by any mean?
I don’t have any consultant / lawyer etc hired for my wife in Pakistan waiting for the visa application submission date since July

          7. Hooriya says:
            November 6, 2018 at 2:06 pm

Every family reunion visa applicant has to submit lawyers fees to the embassy at the time of interview and then the embassy send a lawyer to verify the whole process. Its mentioned on the website.

Is there going to be an interview for the spouse in Pakistan or is it same as it is with both spouses who have Pakistani passport? Is it different or the same. Koi same situation ma ha?

        Congratulations Ahmad,
I applied in July 2017 than got objection in Jan 2018 than we submitted the papers again in April 2018 with again 30000 fees. Lawyer came for second enquiry on 3rd May. Embassy sent documents for final approval to abh in September. Abh sent back the approval last week. And yesterday by God’s grace we got visa call. Now I Don know, we have to buy travel health insurance or not? If any body knows about it. Please share. Jazakallah AL khair.

My wife asked them for travelling insurance, they said it’s not needed. If it would have been compulsory for you they would have asked. So do not worry about it. I wish you all the best. Which, the city you will be travelling to?

Can anyone tell me are there any questions asked while giving the visa? in german or in general any questions? or they just give you the visa without asking anything?

if your spouse is a Blue card holder then they don’t ask any questions while giving the Visa, otherwise they do ask Questions (Didn’t experience this)

Good to hear that. My husband is also blue card holder he born in Pakistan too but i didn’t submitted his birth certificate as he had not nadra certificate, but embassy didnt raise any question on that nor does the verification guy.
Verfication guy was good he cleared my birthcertificate as well although my certificate was registered in a wrong UC. but he did a favor to me for that and he verified it from that UC and cleared it.
But I am still waiting for my husband’s verification from Germany. Rest is done from Pakistan.

Alhamdulilah got Visa after 1 year 5 months.. Giving others an overview as it might help them

    * Went for first Visa Appointment in July 2017
    * Lawyer verified everything on September 2017
    * Embassy raised objection on December 2017. Husband and Wife’s birth certificate (Entry was Late and Age assessment was missing).
    * Went to Court and got my our Birth Certificates corrected. Also at the same time i asked Auslanderbehorde to not consider my birth certificate as i was in Berlin and a blue card holder and they agreed to not consider my Birth Certificate for my wife’s case but i am suppose to submit it later onwards once my wife was here in Berlin with me. Auslanderbehorde also asked me for all the documents at this point (It was March 2018)
    * Submitted the newly created wife’s birth certificate with 30,000 PKR verification fee in April 2018 to embassy.
    * Lawyer verified everything in June 2018 but didn’t come to home. He only visited the UC for verification.
    * In start of November 2018 after repeated emails to embassy asking them about status of my wife, They finally told me that my document verification was complete and that they asked Auslanderbehorde for final approval.
    * On 15th November 2018, Wife finally got call to collect Visa.
    * On 27th October she went to embassy with her passport and collected the visa.

This was a very long and tiring process. Everyone hang in there.
Especially the ones which got objection. Once you submit documents after objection then think of it as starting the process again.

Anyone has any info related to what else other than the visa is required when spouse travels on family reunion visa to Germany.

For example: When i went on work Visa they wanted to see whether i had protector on my passport.
Does my wife need anything else like travel insurance or Polio certificate before my wife can board the airplane to Germany ?

Hi Maryam, I don’t think anybody received an appointment. There is a group in Facebook where people post regularly if they got a le appointment or not or if you have any questions regarding family reunion visa from Isb. It’s called Family reunion visa for Germany. Just search it on Facebook. There are a lot of people waiting for an appointment. Best of luck!!
