Family Reunion – Pakistan – General info for all to avoid mistakes

Dear Members Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I am writing this email to let members know few things about family reunion and some mistakes which must be avoided. If some friend is going to get married  in Pakistan, please tell him/her about these issues. Simple looking mistakes can cause big trouble and delay later in family reunion.
About Nikah Registration:
Registration of Nikah involves three people:  Nikah Khawan, Nikah Registrar  and Union council. UC gives a register with 50 leaves to Nikah-Registrar. Each leave contains Nikah Nama ” Form II” in quadruplicate. In one UC , only a single Registrar can have the register.  In usual case, Nikah Khawan goes to Registrar(if he is himself not a registrar) and gets a Nikah nama Form II (which has fours copies). One copy each (filled and signed) is given to  Duhla, Dulhan,Registrar and UC.
1. Take care that Nikah is registered at the same Union Council where Nikah has taken place .Address written on filled Nikahnama should be in the UC where Nikah is registered.  Any thing different to this created big problem for many ,especially those who did Nikha in a Marriage Hall and brought Molvi sahib from some other UC. If you made this mistake, count a delay of at least 3 months. Embassy will raise objection as the lawyer sent for Marriage verification would like to see your Nikah registered at the same UC as address written on Nikahnama. You may be to asked to change registration of your marriage from one UC to other through a court procedure in Pakistan.
2. Please closely check all the four copies of the filled Nikah-Nama for any mistake in names, ID card nr., date of birth etc. Check that all signatures are there at right place and stamp of Nikah-Registrar is present. Many take things lightly in Pakistan while filling forms.
3. Telephonic Nikah is big no no. You must be present there as German Embassy/consulate now checks it from entry and exit stamps on your passport. If there are some unavoidable circumstances, give a written power of attorney which has legal value i.e signed in front of Notary Public/judge or from Pakistani embassy/consulate (in case they deal with it) to your father to represent you during Nikah.  Better be present there. Your absence will complicate the matters and hence the delay/rejection as a consequence.
4.  Carefully read the requirements of Embassy for Family reunion. If any question arises, call embassy to get an answer. Don’t rely blindly on the info collected from here and there.
5. Some people I talked to have made mistake while getting online appointment. You mad a mistake in name, passport number or email address than most probably you will not be able to submit documents on that day. In my experience, if you decide to take an appointment for family reunion, you normally get it after 4 to 6 weeks. So missing an appointment can be source of further delay.6. The interview by lawyer or at embassy may involve basic questions from your spouse about you. Newly married; make sure he/she has all the basic info about you.

7. Spouse of a Blue Card holder is exempted from providing A-1 German language certificate. About this, don’t believe on what they say on phone :). If your spouse can’t manage to do a language course in Pakistan, present following reference of the concerned Law  as proof on your appointment day:

8. In some cities, there were cases when Ausländerbehorde(ABH) objected that the spouse in Germany is passing through the probation period of job.  In some cities ,they ask for salary slips of 6 months while in others only for 3 months or just a job contract. Talk to other Pakistanis/Indians who have experience of dealing with the same ABH  so that you can proceed accordingly.

Please correct if I am wrong on any account. The info is based on posts of members on this forum, experiences of acquaintances and my personal experience.

If you know some other issues which you or someone known to you faced, kindly share on this forum. This will facilitate others in their family reunion.

Us nay kaha ye Story me Embassy me dunga keh aap Amy esa kaha tha. Question jab nekaah sahi hai Photos sahi hai to Embassy objection karegy?

      1. mein try kro ga ap k husband se bt krna ki, ap ko lawyer neh jo kaha wo lekna nai chahya tha, and facebook par is lia zor da rha tha k embassy pocha gi k ap log kidar mila ho aur kia proof hai, ap neh nikah kiya hai sirf ya pori shadi ki hai? court marriage tu nai na? and family waqra ki pics di han jo shadi k time li thi?

          2. May I know the name of laywer, if I may know? normaly, in such a case the lawyer only wants bribe money. There is no such law to capture whatsapp screenshots or facebook. Its too much personal. Germans are very much strict to data and privacy policy. You should have asked the lawyer, that who gave him permission to get into your privacy? does he had any authority letter?

            In my opinion, don’t you worry. Lawyer can’t say that embassy will reject visa or embassy will raise objection, its not part of his job. He can only verify validity of documents issued by local or federal govt. If he thinks nikkah nama is not valid, then he has to challenge Union Council and NADRA. I am sure, he is not that stupid to take this risk of losing his job. I would say, just wait for an answer from the embassy.

  3. got letter from embassy to cancel old birth certificate and make new one through court where i live there is no Uc only one office who issue this and i am not sure if they will cancel my old one because they said your document is fine it should be accepted but its not so i will do lawyer but in the end don,t know they will cancel the old one or issue the same with new date but in capital the rules are different and nobody can make wrong birth certificate my birth certificate is true and legal thats why they said they can not cancel it will update what happen after court order and remember only nadra can delete the old one birth certificate office can not beacuse they are using nadra software and they have no option to delete in their computer at the systam of that office of birth certifiate

          1. roheel you got your visa you can camplain againts stupid laywers and about staff who work in islamabad embassy you should really camplain so the upcoming applicant be save from the stupid lawyers and staff just write a strong email to the head of german embassy and one in the main office of germany

  7. Does any Body share how Long it took for the Family visa from german embassy Islamabad recently? It is almost two months since the lawyer from embassy visit my wife and was everything ok.

    1. i have applied on 17th august in islamabad embassy. lawyer visited me on 24th august. since then no response . my wife didnt recieved any letter yet in germany. My wife is German national.

        1. please let me know if your spouse is German national? and in which city your spouse lives? because in main cities ausländerbehörde is mostly busy.

          1. yes but my case is different. every one’s case is individual. my wife is pregnant and embassy asked for doctor’s letters so i have attached when applied and lawyer took doctors attested letters too.

          2. law is law, doesnt matter even if your wife is pregrant, there is alot of people, who applied visa before u n waiting, even some of them have kids with theirs wives, i lives in Berlin too n i have been thru visa process, man i dont want to dissapoint you but its the reality

    1. mara case mein same tha, apko deadline da gien, mujha bi di thi lekin jb deadline k lia call ki os k ek din pehla mara result aya tha n A1 clear hogaya tha, and mene unko kaha k next week mein certificate bhajo ga kyun k abi certificate aya nai, then mene bhaja certificate n ek week baad mujha visa call ah gayi thi, and visa call k 1 week baad ka ana ka kaha n 1 August ko ana ka kaha aur visa laga k mara passport wapis kar dia, 3 ganta mein

    Ma Ausländeramt gay tha last Week.. they said your Wife’s visa Status is “verifying documents” after that Ausländeramt Call me to come in Office.
    Can anyone tell; How long does it takes and what i Need to do?
    Embassy visa section Replied my email in september that ” we received all the requested documents, yours wife’s visa is under Process.

      Wo keh rahy hain k Abi embassy waly documents verify kar rahy hain .. ic k baad ham ap ko bula lain gay.
      12 July ko apply kiya tha.. Lawyer 26 ko Aya ic k baad embassy ka Email Reply Aya tha k we received all the requested documents.
      Ab Koi ans ni Kisi tarf sy bhe.. I Think Everything is alright. Agr Koi documents ka issue hota or onko Kuch mery sy chayea hota wo Contact karty .
      Ap ka Kia bana?

  13. mian ne 6 july ko aply kia tha. 22 august ko lawyer ne ghar visit kia . october mian mery husband ko Ausländeramt walun ne bhula k wahan jo ducuments chahye wo jama ker liye hian .. abi mian ne A1 jama nahi kervaya bus wo reh ga wait ker rehy hian.. dekhy . i think 6 month bad hi viza daity hian .

  14. Guten Morgen/ Salam
    My wife Applied for Family reunion visa in July 2017. Lawyer visited us on 26 August 2017. I called embassy , they said that , we sent your complete documents after inquiery from pakistan to Germany. I visited Ausländerbehörde 2 times, they said your documents are still in Process in auswärtigungamt, when they Complete their job than we will Call You via Post in Ausländerbehörde.
    Can Somebody tell us.. is Everything is ok with our visa Process and what will happen Next and How long does it take more.

    kahian cases mian aisa bi hota hia k deutschland se inquiry nahi hoti hia. or ap ki wife ko viza call a jati hia. humary acdmy mian kafi larkio k case mian aisa huwa hia k un k husband ki inquiry nahi huwi hia may be ap ki bi na ho . jinu ne july mian aply kia un mian se abi kisi ko bi viza call nahi ayi hia . be positive koi issue nahi ho ga . ager ducuments ka koi masla hota to abi tk embbasy waly ap ki wife se contact ker chuky hoty .

  27. Asalam Alykum all brothers and sisters please mere aak confusion hai jo Embassy se Lawyer ata hai woh interview aap ke apne ghar me leta hai ? ya sirf visit karne ata hai ? or interview ke call baad me ate hai jo ke embassy me ja kar dena hota hai ?

    1. he will visit you at your home,probably will call before coming and will take interviews and ask many questions from you and your family after that he will submit the his report to embassy and embassy will ask for a final interview(after 5-6months from the date you applied) if your spouse is German national and then they will issue you visa

  28. Assalam o Alikum 17 august ko apply Kia tha 10 october ko wakeel aya tha and i am still waiting but Mera question hai After apply mere husband nay nationality leya tha. Kia mujhay husband ke ( nationality papers) Embassy ko Email kerna chaheye?

I gonna take A1 course this month or maybe next month i got marry with German national but she is not pure german but sh have german passport . She divorced last 15 years ago and me too divorced guy last 2 and half years ago and we know each other last 4 years almost. Between me and wife have age gap she is 9 years of elder than me so its can make any kind of trouble for me when i apply for visa or submet my documents at embassy ?
