Family Reunion – Pakistan – General info for all to avoid mistakes

Dear Members Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I am writing this email to let members know few things about family reunion and some mistakes which must be avoided. If some friend is going to get married  in Pakistan, please tell him/her about these issues. Simple looking mistakes can cause big trouble and delay later in family reunion.
About Nikah Registration:
Registration of Nikah involves three people:  Nikah Khawan, Nikah Registrar  and Union council. UC gives a register with 50 leaves to Nikah-Registrar. Each leave contains Nikah Nama ” Form II” in quadruplicate. In one UC , only a single Registrar can have the register.  In usual case, Nikah Khawan goes to Registrar(if he is himself not a registrar) and gets a Nikah nama Form II (which has fours copies). One copy each (filled and signed) is given to  Duhla, Dulhan,Registrar and UC.
1. Take care that Nikah is registered at the same Union Council where Nikah has taken place .Address written on filled Nikahnama should be in the UC where Nikah is registered.  Any thing different to this created big problem for many ,especially those who did Nikha in a Marriage Hall and brought Molvi sahib from some other UC. If you made this mistake, count a delay of at least 3 months. Embassy will raise objection as the lawyer sent for Marriage verification would like to see your Nikah registered at the same UC as address written on Nikahnama. You may be to asked to change registration of your marriage from one UC to other through a court procedure in Pakistan.
2. Please closely check all the four copies of the filled Nikah-Nama for any mistake in names, ID card nr., date of birth etc. Check that all signatures are there at right place and stamp of Nikah-Registrar is present. Many take things lightly in Pakistan while filling forms.
3. Telephonic Nikah is big no no. You must be present there as German Embassy/consulate now checks it from entry and exit stamps on your passport. If there are some unavoidable circumstances, give a written power of attorney which has legal value i.e signed in front of Notary Public/judge or from Pakistani embassy/consulate (in case they deal with it) to your father to represent you during Nikah.  Better be present there. Your absence will complicate the matters and hence the delay/rejection as a consequence.
4.  Carefully read the requirements of Embassy for Family reunion. If any question arises, call embassy to get an answer. Don’t rely blindly on the info collected from here and there.
5. Some people I talked to have made mistake while getting online appointment. You mad a mistake in name, passport number or email address than most probably you will not be able to submit documents on that day. In my experience, if you decide to take an appointment for family reunion, you normally get it after 4 to 6 weeks. So missing an appointment can be source of further delay.6. The interview by lawyer or at embassy may involve basic questions from your spouse about you. Newly married; make sure he/she has all the basic info about you.

7. Spouse of a Blue Card holder is exempted from providing A-1 German language certificate. About this, don’t believe on what they say on phone :). If your spouse can’t manage to do a language course in Pakistan, present following reference of the concerned Law  as proof on your appointment day:

8. In some cities, there were cases when Ausländerbehorde(ABH) objected that the spouse in Germany is passing through the probation period of job.  In some cities ,they ask for salary slips of 6 months while in others only for 3 months or just a job contract. Talk to other Pakistanis/Indians who have experience of dealing with the same ABH  so that you can proceed accordingly.

Please correct if I am wrong on any account. The info is based on posts of members on this forum, experiences of acquaintances and my personal experience.

  2. I applied in feb mid and got a date of July this week. so be patient. Calls wagaira se kuch b nahi hota. they always say k system automated hai jb available hoa to date de di jaye gi. Even maine embassy k andar personal reference se bhi try kia tha bt wo b galat guide kr rahe the so no use.

  4. mujhy bhi appointment ka issue tha main ny 3 weeks wait kia phir google py german business journals in pakistan k naam ly link khulla wahan sy un ko e -mail ki or btaya k mery husband or bachy british national han husband germany main settle ho gaey han or bachy mery pass han is liye please mujhy jaldi appointment dain to mujhy reply aya k husband or bachon k passports ki picz send karen wo main ny send ki to mujhy next day e mail ai k 5 days baad meri appointment thi ao ye try kr lain un ko btaen k family reunion ka masla hai to jaldi chahiye appointment.

  7. haider bhai could u please tell me that after how long your finnisch friend’s spouse got german reunion visa.My inquiry has been done. How they will do my husband’s inquiry they will call him or they will check his job online.

    2. fatima sister.his wife got visa almost after one year.the main cause of delay was that they didnt provide the payslips.thats why their case has taken so much time.

  8. My situation is exactly same as yours, we applied on 13 Dec, lawyer visit was in 1st week of january, I submitted my documents in ABH in February. We haven’t contacted anyone for visa status. We are waiting until 6 months are complete. Since, after 6 months embassy is obliged to inform about the status. So we I will contact them when the time completes.

        laywer paid his visit in End of sepember.
        And after a long wait my husband inwuire done in march. And approvel sent to isb embassy on 29 march.
        17 may visa approval again sent from germany.
        I called embassy on 27 may they said ur case is in process wait embassy will contact you.
        than 30 may i got visa call.Alhamduillah..

        1. At which number you called?, My wife tried this number 0512007100 then a person picks up and transfers the call to embassy. A female operator keeps on asking question and then when you choose Family Reunion Visa, It says open German Embassy site and check visa section and get email from there and send the email and the operator repeats the options again, so how we can connect to real person or we should ignore the operator and keep on waiting ?

        2. Samar, In your case it tool more than 6 months (Around 9 months), Did you have any objections? What reason embassy gave you from the delay ? Did you confirmed about the status after 6 months, what they said at that time ?

          2. You had to for 3 more months without an answer? That is really disgusting, they are obliged to answer after 6 months.

I applied on 12 March got email of birth certificate e on 16 March ABH contacted my husband on 22 March my husband Vista ABH on 2nd April ,,,and then ,i submit the birth certificate which they demanded ( legalized from saudia Arabia) as I was born in saudia on 9th April inquiry done on 9th may ….now we are waiting for visa call but one of my friend applied on 14 March ..after 2 days of my appointment for visa cal today ……strange …. His wife is pregnant did this helps them to get visa early ?

    1. ayesha sister plz confirm from your friend if they provided any other document like pregnancy certificate.actually five months are passed after my wife‘s interview and we are waiting a baby inshallah.please ask your friend may be it will help us.

  16. lawyer came after 26 days of case submission for my inquiry he told that my documents are ok. This is inquiry from pakistanand i don’t know how they will do my husband’s inquiry either they will do online or call him.

    1. That’s what they say to everyone. Your inquiry from Pakistan will be complete when the embassy will send the inquiry report to AUB.

  20. No they didn’t attach any kind of papar…but in interview at embassy and to the lawyer,,he said his wife is pregnant and expecting month is June so I need the visa before June so I can go with my wife and it’s compulsory

      It starts from documents submission.
      So it means, when you submit your documents than you can count 4 months from that day.

      1. no, they only ask for A1 test again if your A1 certificate is more than 1 year old after visa approval.

  25. Hello,

    I have a question regarding the Birth certificate. My birth certificate has an Entry date of April 2015 and Issue date of May 2015. Will this cause any issues regarding the spouse visa because I have read somewhere in this forum that the different dates might cause some issues.

  26. Guys can you plz guide me about the procedure of getting an appointment for family Reunion ?

    My spouse is in Germany .
    Shall I take online appointment , complete the documents and apply here in Pakistan or my spouse should apply there ?
    And what’s the best way to get an appointment via online system or by writing an email to the Embassy ?

  28. Asalam o Alikum; i was apply Family Reunion visa for my 8 year old Son. But After 6 Month Embassy Refused Visa Prahgrapf 5 Abs. 1 Ausländergesetz Satz 1 about in Deutschland Financial not good these Moment. Can is possible any body help us where we go and Control.
